Our STEM-focused school events are split into two half days, for up to 50 students per event (100 per day).  The target age group is Year 8-9, so that we are working with the students approaching a time when they will choose their GCSE options.

Following an introductory talk, the students are divided into six groups which then carousel around the various activities.  With the exception of the simulators which are manned by our professional driver coach, each activity comes with its own learning materials and we will brief your supervising staff beforehand.

The activities are:

  • Racing simulators – exploring driving techniques and data analysis
  • Scalextric challenge – investigating electric circuits and control
  • Cutaway engine – learning how engines function in practice
  • Micro:bit reaction test – applying coding and sequencing to problem-solving
  • Pit stop challenge – teamwork and hands-on engineering under time pressure
  • Marketing design task – developing creativity and communication skills

The event ends with a short talk covering some of the following topics:

  • Careers in STEM and Motorsport

  • Future Skills

  • Tenacity and the value of learning

  • Diversity and Sustainability
